How We Play

Phases of Play

TWFC players will be coached on the separate phases of play in a soccer match. These phases are In Possession of the ball, Out of Possession of the ball, In Transition, and Formation. Each of the three phases have clear and concise goals when it comes to expectations on tactics and ability.

How We Play: In Possession

TWFC teams will play with composure on the ball and will be able to possess large percentages of the ball throughout soccer matches. TWFC teams will be coached on recognizing the right moments to go forward and apply more direct pressure, and when to retain possession and manage the match.

How We Play: Out of Possession

At the moment possession is lost, the TWFC teams have the objective of recovering the ball quickly and in the most efficient way possible by taking actions based on their intelligence and taking into account the state of the game and the default game plan.

How We Play: In Transition

The TWFC teams will take to the stage and stand out on the field of play according to the demands of the match and based on their technical ability and physical level.

How We Play

Formation

TWFC teams and their formations will be both tactical and flexible and will consider all impactful variables. TWFC player form, fitness, and ability will be considered, as will assessments of opposing team formations and players. Regardless of formation or position, all players will be coached to be able to execute the TWFC DNA playstyle.
